Since their founding in 2010, Friends of Flutes Foundation has been dedicated to helping college and post-graduate flute students become professional musicians who fill orchestras, chamber music groups, jazz combos, and other ensembles. In 2016, Eftihia Arkoudis became one of the organization’s grantees. She received a stipend of $1,000 to travel to Europe and tour as the principal flutist of the Greek-Turkish Youth Symphony Orchestra on its 3-week summer tour in Greece and Turkey. Some of the higlights of this tour included performances at the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes, the Neratzia castle of Kos, and Turkey’s newest concert hall in Izmir, Ahmet Adnan Saygun Concert Hall

Greek-Turkish Youth Orchestra strengthens friendship with concert
