I am excited to share that the new year has found me joining the faculty of the West Virginia University Community Music Program as an Associate Flute and Piano Instructor. I will continue my mission to teach music to students of all ages with or without learning and physical disabilities through my private studio and the community. I am grateful for the colleagues that supported me to get this job, the program administration for the opportunity and the parents who trust me with their children’s musical training.

Teaching Philosophy

“Life is not about finding yourself, it’s all about creating yourself”

Teaching is a profession of great caliber and it gives me immense joy to step into the role of a music teacher and see my students grow both as humans and artists. At the core of my philosophy lies the belief that when we teach music, we are more than just experts. We are role models and mentors. We are there to demonstrate that with love, support and encouragement, anyone of us can incorporate music into their lives. As we are not all one and the same, I instinctively embrace the unique personality of each student and build a positive and well-rounded learning environment that caters to their needs and abilities, instills confidence and self-love, inspires creativity and motivation, and respects their individuality. Through the WVU Community Music program I wish to teach beginner piano lessons and flute to all ages and levels to children and adults with or without physical and/or learning disabilities. I hope to share my passion and experience for teaching children with special needs in the Morgantown community and spread awareness that anyone can take music lessons and acquire its benefits on both the mind and soul. Whether I am guiding my students through their first steps of learning the art of music, helping them rekindle with their instrument or further master their craft, I’d like to be their partner in achievement. It is pure happiness when my students accomplish things that they never thought they could.
